Historical Background

Hamidullah Rahimi served as the Deputy of the Military Association under the leadership of the National Salvation Front of Afghanistan for almost nine years, contributing significantly during the Soviet Union's presence in Afghanistan. His commitment to the nation led to a special decree by President Mujadidi on May 4, 1992, appointing him as the Finance Minister of Afghanistan. Throughout his military career, he climbed the ranks from Brigadier General to Major General and ultimately achieved the prestigious rank of Four Star (Supreme) General on May 18, 1992, thanks to his relentless efforts in persuading the communist regime in Kabul to hand over power.

Hamidullah Rahimi was dedicated to making the world a better place. His sons Ahmad Mohammad Ali Rahimi and Ebrahim Rahimi followed in his footsteps committing to give back just as their father did.

President Rabani recognized General Rahimi's valor and leadership by awarding him the title of "Hero" and presenting him with the Golden Star of Afghanistan on July 30, 1992. In 1991, General Rahimi held official meetings with the President of the Islamic Government of Iran and various Iranian ministers. Additionally, in 1992, he played a pivotal role in numerous international conferences, delivering messages that covered the political and economic aspects of Afghanistan.
